Doing It For Dylan
Donation protected
Dylan Bowlden was born premature.... in fact 3 months too early! At birth Dylan suffered a brain bleed, and as a result of this, has severe quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. After 5 long months in hospital, Dylan's parents were also told that their tiny, fragile baby was also profoundly deaf. Now 15 years later, Dylan has surprised doctors and therapists with his determination to walk, communicate, navigate computers, attend school, play sport and above all, have fun and enjoy life to its fullest. The ability for Dylan to be able to continue to live life and participate, entails lots of expensive specialist equipment. Dylan is non verbal, but due to modern technology is able to communicate through a speech output device. Dylan's current communication device is 9 years old, and has proved to be a very powerful and essential tool in his day to day life. Unfortunately this device is continually breaking down due to old age and outdated software and hardware. You can only imagine how frustrating it is for him when this happens. The cost of a new replacement communication device is $20,000 and is now available with extra functions and a new eye gaze control technology. Dylan and his family are in urgent need of a new speech device. If you feel you can help with this cause, or know someone who can, the Bowlden Family would be most appreciative.
