Hi Everyone!
This campaign to raise funds has been set-up for an amazingly strong, bubbly and wonderful friend and collegue of ours, Debbie Dunlop!
Deb has been an employee of Rich River Golf Club in Moama for 4 years and on June 17th we received the news that Deb had had a horrible fall whilst on holidays in Darwin with her family.
From the fall Deb had severely damaged her spinal cord and was unable to move her legs and had very limited movement in her arms and hands.
On June 18th Deb boarded her CareFlight down to Melbourne where she would undergo surgery at the Austin Hospital. The surgeons fused her C4 vertebra in place to support her neck.
After her recovery from surgery, Deb was transferred to the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre where she will remain until late November 2017.
At this stage of Deb's recovery she is still unable to mover her legs. However, the movement in her hands and arms has improved since rehab has begun but as we are all aware Deb still has a very long and tough journey ahead of her with difficult hurdles to overcome.
In conjunction with a Trivia Night and Silent Auction, Rich River Golf Club is hoping to raise $10,000 to purchase Deb the wheelchair she will require when her stay at Royal Talbot comes to an end.
Deb is an adored member of our staff and with the support of our club members and our community we hope that we can smash our fundraising goal and give Deb all the support that she deserves!!!
