Dog Rehabilitation Center and Sanctuary of Maine (DRCSM), also know as Dog Temple, is a small no kill shelter/sanctuary in Central Maine (Facility #1094).
We, Sergei and Lisa Bachkovsky, currently care for twenty five last chance dogs that were due to be put down due to behavioral issues.
We rescue dogs, work with them, then find them new forever homes. If a suitable new home cannot be found, they stay with us to live out there lives in our sanctuary. Many of the dogs that we rescue help new dogs that come into our facility through socialization. Proper training and guidance is the best way to keep dogs in their homes and out of the shelter systems. We truly believe that every dog deserves another chance. One of our oldest and dearest members, Buddha, recently demonstrated difficulty walking and defecating. A trip to the vet on Friday, March 9th, 2018, ended with the diagnosis that Buddha may have Lyme disease or possibly an issue with his spine. In either case, we want to be able to give him whatever treatment may be necessary. Friday's vet bill of over $500 set us back a bit. If the issue is with Buddha's spine, the cost could be in the thousands.
We we will be looking into alternative medicines as well and will keep Buddha as comfortable and happy as possible. Any size donation is greatly appreciated.
Even five dollars would buy us a bale of hay for our rabbits , a box of cookies for the dogs, or puppy pads for Buddha.
We were able to have all of our
rabbits spayed/neutered thanks to contributions to this gofundme event.
We could truly use your help. We want to be able to focus on caring for
all of our dogs, cats, rabbits, and chickens rather than worrying about how to pay the bills.
We are always collecting supplies. We have an Amazon wish list that we recently updated(Dog Rehabilitation Center and Sanctuary of Maine). We can always use thick blankets, quality dry and canned dog food, cleaning supplies like Odoban or bleach, oil and electric company gift certificates.
Thank you for your help!
You've all been so helpful over the years! We truly appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness.
