Dog of Cancer Patient Needs Surgery

Friends, Neighbors, Co-workers,
I could use your help. My beloved dog Bogey has torn both his cruciate ligaments and needs a very expensive surgery. I adopted Bogey, a Boxer/Lab Mix when he was 10 weeks old from K-9 Lifeline who rescued him from a high kill shelter in Kentucky. From day one he has been a wonderful dog, who has earned the nickname "The Mayor" in my neighborhood because he likes to meet everyone and kiss babies. He even likes cats, More importantly he has been my rock and my inspiration in my continuing battle with cancer. I can't tell you how much it boosts my spirits to come home to his smiling face and wiggling butt after chemotherapy, or imaging, or when the battle just becomes overwhelming. I love him and need him more than words can express.
I know some people think I'm crazy to spend this much on a dog, but when you bring a pet into your home you take on obligations, and in this case living up to my obligations is going to leave me in dire straits financially. The alternative is unthinkable. Bogey has so much life and love to give. I couldn't live with myself if I gave up on him. I would rather be broke than broken.
