Afia's Trip to Penn & Boston
Donation protected
My daughter Afia has been selected for the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists Award of Excellence. It is given to scholars for outstanding grades, leadership potential, and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine.
Since the age of three, Afia has always wanted to be a pediatrician. Realizing her dream takes hard work, Afia has excelled academically throughout her formative school years. She maintains being on the honor roll, qualified to attend John Hopkins' Center for Talented Youth Program, and had perfect attendance for four years. She is also a member of the junior varsity cheerleading squad. For the past three years, she attended a quarterly academy offered by Yale University's Girls Science Investigation program.
As a freshman in high school, Afia's GPA earned her an opportunity to attend Pennsylvania State University's Summer Camp for Science. Tuition for this program is $300.
This new honor of Future Medical Leaders, is being held in Boston, MA June 24 - 26 and tuition is $985 and it does not include accommodations, travel and food.
I would love to have my daugther attend both programs but financially it is not possible. I am hoping that family and friends can help so that Afia's dream to attend can be a reality.
Deadline for all funds is April 15th, 2015.
