"The masks were a HUGE hit with our staff! They are going to be deployed with staff in our NeoNatal Intensive Care, Labor & Delivery, and Mother/Baby Units. Everyone took a look and loved how the N95s will fit so nicely in the pocket." Lisa B., Einstein Healthcare Network
SFG has produced over 3500 washable fabric masks, 2500 of which were specifically designed for and donated to health care workers to preserve PPE. It is important that our healthcare workers have the protection they need and the masks made by SFG have been approved by two different health systems. Our health care workers deserve the best and we believe we are in a position to give them the best with your help.
"My co-workers love and are ever grateful for the masks." Amy H., Riddle Memorial Hospital
SFG currently has a request for an additional 2000 masks from Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia (they already received 1000 from SFG) and we expect additional requests from Main Line Health and other facilities as COVID continues. The medical masks are made by out of work professional seamstresses. The cost of these medical masks has been self-funded by SFG and strengthened by donations. SFG has volunteer home sewers who make non-medical masks which are given in exchange for donations. Those financial gifts are then used to make medical masks. Donations went down as masks became more available, but health care workers still need masks.
"The total count .... that you and your team has generously provided us is 1,057 masks" Caitlin P., Main Line Health
Your donation will go toward the making of masks; materials, overhead and payment to recently unemployed seamstresses. These professionals have seen their income slashed by the cancellation of weddings and other special events. For some, this is their only income.
"The staff was so grateful. Our Director of Maternal & Children’s services shared they are seeing a number of COVID positive pregnant women. These masks will definitely be put to good use by our frontline providers!" Lisa B., Einstein Healthcare Network
Seamstresses are paid $5.00 per mask and earn $20-30/hour by making masks. The washable masks are three layers which includes a pocket that holds an N95 respirator or paper surgical mask. They have elastic straps which are adjustable so the mask fits comfortably. SFG masks were approved by the Infection Preventionists and are the favorite of their staff. We need your help to continue production --the quality of our masks rivals those we've seen at retail for $25.
Please donate so SFG can continue making medical masks here in the USA. Support the environment, jobs, health care and help protect our neighbors!
Best wishes for continued good health. #SmallBusinessRelief
