Doc Watson Rehab

Tax deductible

As most know covid changed a little bit of how  I run my business. After having an 80% drop in walking clients I decided it was time to start fostering for some organizations in the great PNW that I call home. Originally I was hoping to foster to adopt a new dog and hopefully one that needed a little more structure and consistency than what is provided in a home. I was looking for a smaller dog to bring a little balance to my pack and provide a smaller companion to help engage with smaller clients.
I found (Doc) Watson posted on a schnauzer rescue group and thought he would be a great addition. He is believed to be a 3yr old Shnoodle (schnauzer poodle mix).
Despite having a traumatic past and being pulled from a hoarding house, I believe all dogs have the possibility to have robust happy lives with the right support.

After initially meeting Watson I knew he was going to be hard to work with but I was hopeful that providing him with nutrition and structure would help change his chewing through leashes, fear of people,  desire to escape and run.  Coming in severely under weight... my first goal was to help him gain weight. I could tell something was wrong as he had inconsistent bowels, we worked with supportive nutrition and a week on his new protocol a 3inch worm came out...progress.He started gaining weight and stopped chewing through leashes, and even made a few friends at the park. His bowel movement’s are now clean and he has made progress on having more energy and becoming less reclusive. He knows the command wait and will sit on command. He has great leash walking skills, enjoys being groomed and has learned how to swim and use the treadmill, but his favorite dog activity is playing with his friends at an enclosed dog park. He has walked over 700miles with our pack over the past 5months.The one thing I have not been able to help out with is his desire to run away... so I am turning to accupuncture to see if we can change his fear, and desire to run away from humans. At first I thought time would be the best solution to this struggle but after 3 months of not running he attempted to make an escape. This is his 3rd attempt to run from me but I would love to fix this issue so he can find a new home.... I don’t want to rename him Waldo.

I'm raising money to benefit Watson through Forever Home Dog Rescue, and any donation will go directly to a tracking device to help secure Watson and accupuncture treatments to help address his strong fearful behaviors.

Here is a breakout of what I am looking to get for Watson:

Whistle Go (Now covered Thankyou WalkHikePay!)
The Health + Location Tracker for Pets
$129.95 + SUBSCRIPTION 7.95/month for a yearly ($95.40) This will transfer over to his new adoptive family.

All health services will be preformed at The Animal Healing Center with Dr. Larry Siegler

Initial Consultation:$200
Accupuncture Treatments: $100/treatment session
(I am hoping to cover at least 4 treatments)

More information about Forever Home Dog Rescue: It is the sole purpose of the Forever Home Dog Rescue (FHDR) organization to rescue and rehabilitate abused, neglected, and/or abandoned dogs that come to FHDR from local or interstate shelters. After the rescued dog spends time with FHDR, getting them back to good health with nutritious food, visits to the vet, and lots of attention at a "foster home", they are then placed (through an adoption process) into a loving and caring "forever home". What FHDR does is not an easy task, but with the help of the many loving and dedicated volunteers, for which Forever Home Dog Rescue is enormously grateful, the "task" is made just a little bit easier in helping the many dogs, who come through FHDR, to find that "forever home" they long for. FHDR strongly believes in helping our furry dog friends in finding that loving, caring, forever home for which they totally deserve after possibly coming from a less than loving and caring environment.
