Total Loss House Fire

It’s crazy to think that in the middle of a pandemic life could get worse, but it did. On 4/19, my brothers family was woken up to a house fire. He was able to get his wife, and two kids (5, and 7) outside to safety. (They unfortunately we’re unable to get dressed on the way out, so they have minimal clothing left.) But then realized their cat was still inside. So, he ran back in for the cat and was able to bring her to the rest of the family. Though, when he did, they realized he was not okay. He had to be rushed to the hospital where they found his lungs were not in good condition. We thought he was going to be put in a coma to let his body heal. Though, later were relieved to find that his body is slowly healing and was in ICU. We have no idea how long his body will take to heal. His wife and two children were able to be put up at the grand view as they don’t have anything. So many donations have been made. But, they were renting the house. So there won’t be insurance to cover their stay. Minimal items will be able to be replaced. I am so thankful they were able to get out when they did. But they need to figure out a place to stay, and how to pay for rent, and deposit. We have contacted Red Cross, who has been able to pay for their stay. But we don’t know how long they will be able to help under the current crisis. Thank you for loving my family.
