A little over a year ago I met Tim, the man of my dreams. And if that wasn't enough, in the process i got to know a beautiful couple, whom I now
consider family. Mike Lawrence is Tim's brother and just recently married the love of his life Loren Devine Lawrence. It's been a whirlwind of a year. A few years ago Loren fought breast cancer at the age of 25. After treatments of chemo, radiation, and a mastectomy she kicked cancers butt!!! Much to their surprise they found out they were expecting and due to deliver in October 2014. Roughly around 27 weeks by mere accident doctors discovered a liver mass..... And after biopsy confirmation, it was everyone's worst fear, cancer again, now though with a really complicated and scary twist. Loren was facing the fight against cancer for a second time but now carrying their baby boy. Due to pregnancy many tests and treatments cannot be started until after. After much deliberation with Mike, Loren, doctors and family, it was decided to deliver baby Griffin at 33 weeks to expedite her cancer treatments and screenings. Griffin came into our world on August 19th in Little Rock, AR. And of course being a preemie has it's down sides. Griffin has had multiple small issues but the most recent is a serious issue to do with his colon/intestines. He's not able to eat and of course all of this is straining on Mike and Loren, who have not left his side, spending a fortune on hotel stays, time away from work, and hours away from home. With all of his complications and extended hospital stay, Loren has not had an opportunity to start testing and treatments. As a mother of 2 I felt helpless, not sure how to help. Yea I can set up a nursery, clean their house, do things they cannot, but financially I was floored. I am hoping with the support of family, friends, colleagues, strangers even who are just touched by this story, will donate to a family who will need this more than can even imagine. Please even if you cannot donate, sharing this link would be wonderful for them. Keep this beautiful family in your prayers!!!!
