Care for Kelsey

Donation protected
On April 7th, my sister was involved in a terrible car accident that was caused by a distracted driver on their phone. Thankfully, she came out of the collision with only deep bruises, a bad concussion (as far as we know) and trauma associated with being in a rollover accident, but we never expected the news we would receive after her having a full body scan at the emergency room. At first, the doctors told us that this "white area" in her brain could be positional from the CT... Then it turned into a "benign lesion" that wouldn't require any treatment... Soon enough, she was preparing for an awake craniotomy to remove what was thought to be a "benign brain tumor" that would be taken care of simply with surgery and no follow-up treatment. After her surgery, and after a terribly long and dreadful month of waiting for pathology reports, she was told that she would need radiation and chemo in order to destroy the remainder of what was now no longer considered to be a "benign" brain tumor. It has been a long, traumatic and draining process of sadness, frustration and unbelievable medical bills. Due to surgery and frequent long appointments, Kelsey had to take off work for an extended period of time for her recovery, and has been unable to return to work full time, which will not be changing any time soon. Radiation will consume 6 entire weeks of her time and energy, and chemo will take 6 months to complete. She will have to deal with the long term consequences of both her chemotherapy treatment, as well as her specific type of tumor, which will require life changing decisions and follow-up treatment for the rest of her life. Our family is currently struggling to pay off our dad's cancer treatment from earlier this year, so we are experiencing financial hardship like never before.

ANY donations are so greatly appreciated during this time. Please help me help my sister/maid of honor focus on getting better, rather than worrying about the finances associated with her diagnosis. NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!

I would never ask for anything unless it was desperately needed, so I personally thank you for your kindness and consideration.

I understand that not everyone is able to help out financially. Prayers, positive thoughts and cards are also greatly appreciated. Please contact me if you would like to personally send anything to Kelsey. Please also reach out to me if you are uncomfortable donating through this website, and would prefer to send something in the mail and/or have me pick it up.

THANK YOU!
