As most of you know, my mom went in for a umbilical hernia surgery on January 20th. The surgery that was to be out patient and be a quick recovery turned into my mom fighting for her life as the Dr that did the surgery knicked her bowel without knowing and it was bleeding inside her for 3 days before they took her in for a emergency surgery. She ended up with a bad infection that she is still fighting from this and now also has a big hole at the bottom of her long incision of 23 staples. They had to dig out a large portion of the infection and now they come in twice a day to un pack it and re pack it and this will continue for months. Plus sepsis. She was on a ventilator for 3 days as one of her lungs collapsed and then luckily got weaned off of that once they went in and cleaned out her lung. I was so scared she wasn't going to make it off that but she is a fighter and did it! She still has the infection as of today and her belly is still not moving as of today. She sleeps almost all day which I think is due to depression and she just has many more battles to overcome before she can start rehab and learn how to use all her muscles again. As of now, she can barley take two steps. Im starting this for her because I can't even begin to imagine what her medical bills will be. She has been in the hospital since Jan 20th and in icu for 12 to 14 or those days .....anything I can do or start to help her would be greatly appreciated.
