Summer with The Blue Devils

As many of you know, band has always been the biggest part of my life. When I was in high school, I watched a video of the 2008 DCI finals and was instantly hooked. My dream of marching drum corps was fulfilled last summer marching with the Blue Stars. This year, I took a huge chance and went to audition for the best drum corps in the world, The Blue Devils. After the first audition camp in November I wasn't expecting anything. However, I received a callback! I prepared as best I could and went to the callback camp January 15th. The competition was so intense as everyone was so talented! It was by far the hardest thing I've ever done. I am proud to say I was offered an alternate, and potential trumpet position! Out of over 50 mellophone to audition, I'd say this is a huge accomplishment.

I can't believe I get to call myself a Blue Devil. This is the greatest opportunity I have ever been offered, but I won't be able to do it without your help. Tour fees are very expensive and any little bit helps so much! At the end of May I will fly out to California to start my journey with The Blue Devils. With the cost of flights, tour fees, food, housing, etc, Things get very pricy. Even just a $5 donation will help immensely.
