TEAM BLANE'S CANCER FUND

Blane Manuel became a deputy with the Cameron Parish Sheriff’s office in 1993. It was a dream he always had. On his alternating shifts he works as a big rig truck driver hauling oil field equipment in and around Louisiana and Texas. He left the sheriff’s office in 1999 and continued to drive full time. In 2014 he was called back to duty as a deputy. He graciously accepted this position. After only one month of being a Deputy, he was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer which had spread to his liver and lungs.   We are so incredibly grateful that he was accepted as a patient at MD Anderson in Houston, TX.  He has started his chemotherapy which he will undergo until October 2014.  Thankfully his doctors at MDA were able to work with Christus ST. Patrick Hospital  in Lake Charles so that he can get his chemotherapy administered closer to home.  He is much more comfortable closer to home and this cuts down some of the trips to Houston.   If Blane had it his way he would have kept his same work schedule.  Unfortunately due to the chemo and fighting this battle he has not been able to work.  We are unsure when he will be able to be back to his normal schedule.  


Many wonderful things have happened since this cancer diagnosis. He has reunited with old family, and close friends have shown wonderful support.  There was a 5K race that was held, where a group of family and friends ran in honor of him. We as a family want to lift him up in prayer and love and continue to believe that despite all odds, he will beat this cancer. With that we would also like to support him however we can financially. This is a time when we want him to focus on fighting cancer, trusting God to heal him without the stress and constant worry of surmounting medical bills.  This is what led us here to the Go Fund Me website.  We are praying that we can raise enough money so that Blane and his wife Christine are not burdened with the constant worry of how they will pay their bills.   We are so appreciative for any donation you can give to help our "Blane".  
 

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
