Hello! Thank your for checking out my GoFundMe. I'm beginning a new adventure of faith and am asking for your help. I am applying to do a Youth With A Mission endurance discipleship training school this July in Montana. There are costs involved beyond my means and that's where you come in, could come, please come in!:) Seriously, whether you pray about it or just would like to help me out, I sure would appreciate you considering this.
Let me give you a peek into why I'm wanting to do this training school. I have always had a love for people and felt "called" if you will to missions. After a number of years running away from all that, it's clear to me it's now "time" to take steps of trust ( a huge challenge for me ) and give my all to God. I actually long to grow to love my heavenly Father, myself and spread that love and truth to anyone hurting and in need ( something I know a lot of ).
It's quite scary, but through family and friends, am encouraged to take this leap of faith, go to this 5 month training school where I expect to " Know God and Make Him Known" ( The Youth With A Mission motto ). There is 3 months of lecture and local activities, then 8 weeks overseas to bring God's love in either practical ways or by talking to people.
Waves of terror come at the prospect of quitting my job to take this leap of faith. But I do hear that still small voice that says lay down my fear and follow God.
I am working to pay off current debt of $3,000 myself and already have half of that paid off! woohoo!
The Need:
The tuition for the school and outreach to Asia is $7,900, room and board inclusive.
· NOT INCLUDED in school tuition or outreach costs – Any costs associated with any immunizations I may need, visas (cost varies from country to country) visa photos to your outreach location ($10), costs of required gear, room key and mail key deposits ($20) and any medical expenses incurred during the Endurance DTS program.
I have a list of the gear I need to bring, the most important (and expensive),are Hiking backpacks 60-85 liter size $200 , 20-30 degree sleeping bag $120, Trail boots 120$, outfits of non-cotton clothing $300, Camel back Hydration bladder $80 Etc. I unfortunately do not have these items so I will need to purchase them. It is a long list that I can provide if requested.
Telephone: $85 x 5 months= $425
Incidentals: $30x5 months = $150
Total: $11,000 ( will hopefully cover some of the unknowns at this point as well)
