ALS is an always fatal neurodegenerative disease in which a person's brain loses connection with the muscles. People with ALS lose their ability to walk, talk, eat and eventually breathe.  ALS usually strikes people between the ages of 40 and 70, but it can strike anyone at anytime. Although there is not yet a cure or treatment that halts ALS, scientists have made significant progress in understanding what causes ALS. But their work is not done. Together, we work toward a cure.  That is where you come in.  Over the next 60 hours DJs from all over are going to be donating their time once again to raise money for one of our own. It has been just under four years since Pat Fontes was diagnosed with ALS. Sometimes writing about how amazing a person who has been nothing but humble is difficult. Not many people have sacrificed so much and given their all like Pat Fontes has. If you have never been lucky enough to meet Pat you have met someone he has touched.
