Help Lucy Battle Cancer

Two days before her 25th birthday, the love of my life, Lucy Thomas, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a type of cancer of the lymphatic system, affecting the white blood cells. Its causes are unknown, but the main risk factor is simply being a young adult. Lucy began coughing up blood about a month and a half ago, which is how this all came to light. A small mass was discovered in her right lung and throughout the month of July, many diagnostic tests and multiple biopsies were required to make a diagnosis. Lucy is strong, healthy, and truly the most positive person that I have ever met; so the prognosis is very good for her! To fight this battle, Lucy must go through six months of chemotherapy. Although she has fairly good health insurance through her employer, the costs of scans, treatment, and fertility preservation is staggering. When you take into account that Lucy will also require to go on leave from work, then budgeting for the future can quickly become a nightmare. We are asking for support from our friends and family in this time of need. We are asking for donations from those who are close to us to help with some of these costs, to ease our burden during this difficult time.
