As many of you know, I compete nationally in 3-event water-skiing. I did not start until I was 13, so I have a lot of practicing to do to improve on last year's ranking of 26th in the National Championship. My goal is a top ten National finish in 2012.
I have to ski in the winter to catch up, and it can be very cold. Finding the motivation to jump into 46 degree water, when it is 46 degrees outside, is extremely difficult. I have already had six such days this year.
This is where you can help!
I decided to turn this cold-weather obstacle into an opportunity to help some great kids attend the Still Water Christian Sports Camp. I am asking for donations to provide scholarships to this camp and I will pledge to ski every weekend, no matter how cold it is!
Still Water Sports Camp is an over- night, Christ-centered, sports, adventure and leadership camp open to anyone ages 8-16. They rent facilities in Blanco, Columbus, and Leakey Texas for summer camps.
The camp provides quality sports training lead by middle school, high school and college coaches. Whether a student has never participated in a sport before or plays that sport year round, the counselors come alongside them and challenge them to grow their fundamental skills, teamwork, and knowledge of the game. Still Water believes in a combination of mind, body and soul, so at the same time, the camp teaches campers the importance of God in their lives.
