La Feria Staffing Stipend

La Feria Spanish Tapas/Cata Vino Mercado & Wine Bar in Detroit prides itself on being about community.  We stand in solidarity with our team members and all of you as we unite to stand strong in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Unfortunately, we are coming to a point  where protecting our staff from financial downturn is beyond our control as a small-business.  In compliance with the state  order to close dine-in service effective immediately and until further notice, we are reaching  to our La Feria/Cata Vino extended family to ask for support in a variety of ways.  Our primary goal is to withstand this storm so that our team has a job when all of this crisis passes.   For our hourly staff , whose jobs depend on restaurant traffic, the burden is beyond what our finances can sustain.

Our first endeavor is to promote retail wine sales, and to that end, Cata Vino will be open 11-4, Monday-Saturday for walk-in sales of retail wine and gift certificates.  Additionally, we will be sharing on our social media the ability to purchase electronic gift certificates for anyone who is not able to come by our establishment. We will also accept call in orders ([phone redacted]) for wine and gift certificates.

La Feria/Cata Vino is like home for many and loves providing a warm atmosphere with great food, drink, and community.  We completely understand social isolation and distancing, but these actions have a direct impact on the livelihood of our staff. Because of this we are looking outside of our walls to help lessen the blow to members of our team unprotected in this emergency.

By donating to this fund you are donating directly to those most affected by the incredible decrease in restaurant traffic.  Even a small $10 contribution is the equivalent of you dining in with us once during this emergency.   Immediate help could make an incredible impact on our staff's ability to sustain themselves over the next month.  All of the funds will be collected into La Feria/Cata Vino accounts and 100% will be redistributed to staff as "gifts" on a pro-rata basis. 100% will go to our hourly staff to supplement their paychecks this month as this epidemic and its effects continue to unfold.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support and generosity.
