Dixie Fire Fund for the Harvey Graevs Family

Donation protected

Our dear friends Brad Graevs and Ramsey Harvey and their kids Calliope and Guy lost their home and farm at the Dawn Community House to the Dixie Fire the night of July 24th. They are safe, as are their dog and chickens, but all of their belongings were lost and the house was leveled.

If you know Brad and Ramsey you know that they are amazing people – hard workers, passionate about their community, loving parents, funny, kind, super smart, and so much more. And Calliope and Guy are spunky farm kids with so much heart. Their family has poured a tremendous amount of love and sweat into the Dawn Community House property over the 3 years that they lived there, affectionately naming it Ours Farm. They tended the land to grow beautiful apples, livestock, herbs, produce and flowers. The old farm house was lived in and loved. And they welcomed the community in to carry on the annual fall apple squeeze that has been a tradition for decades.

As the Dixie megafire has raged across our communities, so many of us have watched the smoke plumes come close and the red lines inch toward our homes on the fire maps. This could have happened to any one of us. And the reason so many of us live in Plumas County is the community - the way we lift each other up in times of need. This is a time of need if ever we’ve seen one!

This fundraiser will contribute to Ramsey and Brad’s immediate needs while they are displaced, and support whatever their next steps may be. These guys are survivors! And they’re also not the type to ask for help. Let’s ease their journey as they figure out how to put down roots once again.

Thank you for anything you are able to give, and thanks as well for sharing this fundraiser. Be safe and well!

Note: GoFundMe is asking for additional information about the person fundraising in order to help prevent fraud, so here it is - I am Elizabeth Powell, friend to Ramsey and Brad, and Quincy resident for the past 20 or so years. Our families have kids the same age, and we're all into farmy stuff. In fact I started farming at the Dawn Gardens and lived at the Community House myself, so I have such an appreciation for what Brad and Ramsey gave that property over the past few years. Thanks you.
