A group of brave (and some might say foolish and silly) colleagues from permanent tsb have decided that jumping 10,000ft from a plane is a really good idea, and are completing a skydive in order to raise much needed funds for the permanent tsb Community Fund.
The permanent tsb Community Fund supports local communities by providing funding to community organisations that are working hard to make a difference. The Community Fund aims to provide c. €300,000 in funding to six local charities – chosen by permanent tsb colleagues and the general public.
This year the six charities we are supporting are:
- Breast Cancer Ireland - Breast Cancer Ireland is a charity established to raise vital funding to support pioneering breast cancer research nationally as well as promoting and raising awareness on the importance of breast health amongst women of all ages.
- Irish Guide Dogs For The Blind - Irish Guide Dogs are a national charity dedicated to helping persons who are blind or vision impaired or families of children with Autism to achieve improved mobility and independence. The organizations vision is a future where persons who are blind, vision impaired and disabled achieve independence and dignity through their services.
- Oranmore Maree Coastal Search Unit - Oranmore Maree Coastal Search Unit is a voluntary registered charity established to coordinate and conduct searches for missing persons in the coastal areas of Galway Bay.
- Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) - The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is the largest charity that saves lives at sea around the coasts of the Republic of Ireland.
- Solas Cancer Support (South Eastern Cancer Foundation) - The Solas Cancer Support Centre is one of the finest cancer support services which provide the highest quality support services to the people of the South East. Helping those affected by ways of counselling, relaxation therapies and group support services.
- Women's Aid - Women's Aid is a leading national organisation that has been working in Ireland to stop domestic violence against women and children since 1974. The organisation works to make women and children safe from domestic violence, offer support, provide hope to women affected by abuse and work for justice and social change.
