Hi, I'm Josie and I work for a private healthcare clinic that specialises in prescribing medical cannabis to a wide range of patients with different medical conditions. I am doing a skydive on 13th May 2022 to raise money for our charity partner - The Sapphire Medical Foundation.  They give patients the chance to access medical cannabis without needing to worry about the financial barrier. Since working for Sapphire Medical Clinics, I have spoken to numerous people and heard their real life stories of how medical cannabis has changed their life, benefited them and given them their life back.  Fundraising for this cause is important to me as I see first hand how this treatment has a positive impact on people and their quality of life.  Sapphire Medical Foundation is a charity which aims to reduce the financial barriers of access to medical cannabis. They have one single objective to fund prescription costs for life-changing medical cannabis medications for those who cannot afford them. Despite medical cannabis being legalised in 2018, medical cannabis is still not available on the NHS for the vast majority of patients. This means that their only legitimate way of accessing medications is through private clinics which is too costly for many. Sapphire Medical Foundation will put 100% of the funds raised during my skydive towards covering the annual prescription for patients where medical cannabis has been proven to work, but they are simply unable to afford them.
