Medical Bills

Donation protected

All funds are to be used for medical bills from doctor visits and to cover surgery for Wendy's breast cancer treatments and any lost wages from her missing work. We have tried to evalutate and figure out what our portion of medical expenses will be after insurance takes care of their portion. It is hard to anticipate when this procress has just begun.

Wendy was diagnosed with invasive ductal breast carcinoma on July 25th of this year. Both Wendy and I keep saying how God has had his hand on us and this journey the whole way.

Here is our story. Back in the first week on July 2014 Wendy had thought she felt a small lump in her left breast. But since she had been under a lot of stress with a new job transition she had blown it off and we both figured it was a stress related issue. God on other hand wanted to get her attention and for her not to ignore it. Wendy and I laugh and say God literally shut a door in front of her. On July 13, 2014 Our closet door, where Wendy was getting ready and when she turned around she bumped into that door and hit the lump. Wendy then realized that really hurt and this wasn't normal.  So the next morning she talked to her Dr. which then scheduled an mammogram for July 21st 2014. Her last mammogram in November 2013 was normal.Wendy went down to her appointment, had the mammogram which they found the lump so they did a ultrasound to see what type of mass it was. The result came back and they told her it was a mass not a cyst or fatty tissue. They then scheduled her for a biopsy for July  23, 2014. I took Wendy down to her appointment that afternoon. After the biopsy we had to wait to get the results back. Wendy nor I  really have very good patience for this. God has been teaching us many valuable lessons during this journey. July 25, 2014 the day. All day long no news about the results at all. Well right before Wendy got off work the news had come in that is was cancer. The diagnosis was invasive ductal breast carcinoma. Wendy came home where I was waiting to see her and as soon as she came through the door I had the gut feeling what the answer was. We talked, cried and shared our info with family and friends that we where able to reach. The next step for us on this journey, we met with the cancer group on July 30th, We then were given the news of many good points about her health. They strongly believe it was caught early and minus the cancer she is in great health. After discussion of her options she, with my support, has agreed on a double mastectomy with reconstruction afterward. We then met with the plastic surgeon on August  7th 2014. August 26th surgery is scheduled.

This is how I see God's miraculous hands in all this.
