Please Help Kingston Tandoc

Donation protected
A bright five-year old boy, Kingston, was finally coming into his own. As one of the smaller kids in his class and amongst his friends, he was beginning to gain more self-confidence and get into sports such as T-ball and soccer.

However, on July 26th, 2014, Kingston suffered a tragic accident playing at his grandmother’s house, when he accidentally crashed into the railing which gave way falling three stories. He was rushed to SF General Hospital’s trauma center with an intracranial hemorrhage, T4 fracture, and collapsed lung. He beat the odds by miraculously surviving 2 brain operations that evening and was subsequently put in an induced coma for over a week.

Thankfully, Kingston has now been transferred to the recovery unit at Oakland Children’s Hospital. He is undergoing physical therapy to regain mobility. Glimpses of his personality are starting to shine through. Over 30 family members were allowed to gather at the hospital cafeteria this past Sunday, August 24th to celebrate his 6th birthday. A complete prognosis of his injury has not been determined. His brain is still largely swollen and recovery time is estimated to be months without return to school. It will be a long journey for him to recover.

Kingston’s family and mother, Lisa Tandoc, have received overwhelming offers of help and prayers from family and friends. They are extremely touched and grateful by everyone’s expressions of love and kindness. They truly believe that this support has pulled him through surgeries that the doctors said he was unlikely going to survive.

Lisa Tandoc, his mother, is focused on helping him regain his vibrant personality and confidence which may take an extensive amount of rehabilitation that can go on for years.

Here's how we can all help Kingston. This is a cause to raise enough money for Kingston's family to sustain a “normal” life while focusing on his recovery. Monies raised will help with the cost of expenses related to Kingston's recovery and comfort throughout this difficult time.

Please donate what you can. Most of all, thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
