Help Ahmad Provide AID and Support His Family

To all the kind hearted people of the world:

I am Ahmed Abu Raida. I am 18 years old. I am a social activist and devoted son and brother to my family.

I hope you will take the time to read my story and help—especially my father, who’s very sick.

My family and I had been displaced in Rafah for several months, but now we have been displaced again, and are back in the Khan Yunis region, which has been reduced to rubble and lacks infrastructure.

My father is very sick with a chronic autoimmune disease and requires urgent medical care.

Still, I have hope for both serving my community by providing aid, and eventually evacuating my family to safety.

To maintain this hope, I am asking that people stand in solidarity with us. We are seeking to raise $35,000 USD in funds. 

Of that total, $5,000 will go to aid projects to help my community with basic needs like food parcels, water, and more.

The remainder I hope to use for my family’s evacuation. Currently, (17 May) the border is still closed, but we need to ensure we are prepared for when it reopens, and we need to pay for basics like food, water, medicines, etc.

DISCLAIMER: an additional 2.9% is added because of GoFundMe and PayPal withdrawal fees which estimates to a total of $37,000. 

Evacuation cost breakdown:
My family has 4 adults and 3 children.

• Adult registration fee is $5000 and child registration fee is $2500. 

• The agency also requires administrative fees of approximately $1500. 

Several hundred USD will be needed to transport us to Rafah Crossing when the time comes.

TOTAL NEEDED FOR EVACUATION = $29,500

Community aid project breakdown:

The needs of food and water are ongoing. Prices are constantly rising—especially now that the border is closed. 

• To secure a water truck from a functional desalination plant is $350. 

• Food parcels vary in price, but can cost about $40/parcel. 
  

And I hope to provide many. I also try to provide items like toys and creative projects for children to improve their mental health during this terrifying time.

As other items like clothing, hygiene products, and more become available, I hope to provide those too.

How the money will be securely transferred:

My friend Robin from California, United States will collect you generous donations into her US-based bank account and send me the money via PayPal, which I will use for the aid projects.

We are working together because this platform is not supported in my region. When enough is collected for my family’s evacuation, I have several family members outside Gaza who will register us at Ya Hala office in Cairo, Egypt.
