Displaced Ethiopians in the Oromia and Somali Regional States - Humanitarian Support
Global Alliance for the Rights of Ethiopians (GARE) expresses its sadness concerning the killings and displacement of tens of thousands of Ethiopians in the Oromo and Somali regions of Eastern Ethiopia emanating from reginal border conflicts between the two brotherly ethnic groups.
The root cause of this and similar human tragedies prevailing in Ethiopia is the divide and rule model of governance imposed by the Ethno-centric Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF).
Although GARE recognizes that human displacements, extrajudicial killings and other human rights violations are routine and widespread throughout Ethiopia, the current situation affecting Oromo and Somali Ethiopians is compelling and deserves our collective action.
Therefore, GARE calls on all Ethiopians in the Diaspora to do all they can to channel financial support to those displaced in the Oromia and Somali regional states.
GARE intends to raise funds and provide humanitarian assistance directly to the displaced in greatest need in these regions through reliable channels.
