Dishwashers for Early Education Childcare Centers

Imagine a world where early education childcare centers operate in a sustainable manner, educating children to live healthy lives and make better decisions for themselves and for our planet.
Imagine a world where children learn to reuse their items, rather than buying single-use items that go straight to the garbage, polluting our water and land and harming wildlife.
These are the goals of Alba Research & Consulting (ARC). We hope to reach this goal by Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
In April 2019, Alba Research & Consulting launched its pilot pre-k green certification initiative. Since then, we have been working with five amazing early education childcare centers serving children from infant years to four years old. The mission of ARC is to inspire and create long-lasting changes in the practices of each facility to create an environmentally friendly environment that promotes the health and wellness of children.
With this goal, one of our projects has been helping centers switch from using single-use kitchenware (i.e. plastic plates, cups, and cutlery that go straight to the garbage after one use) to reusable kitchenware. We aim to reduce the waste that each center produces, which ultimately ends up in landfills! Through this initiative, we are working with centers to help them practice sustainability. We do so in hopes that through observation and education, the children in each facility learn to favor reusable's. Children have the prime ability to learn from others and hopefully incorporate these positive lifestyle habits.
Currently, we have three centers out of the five that have fully incorporated reusable dishware into their practices. However, there have been some setbacks!!
The load of hand washing has been taking time away from staff, as well as requiring large amounts of water. Imagine washing the dishware of sixty students three times a day - breakfast, snack, and lunch (imagine all the cutlery, dishes, bowls, and cups)!!
Therefore, we are hoping we can count on you to make a difference. With your donation you can help purchase three dishwashers, one for each center! This will help take the load off the staff and help conserve water.
This will create a positive impact, leading the centers and the staff to want to continue the trend of using reusable's –influencing other centers, as well as encouraging the parents and families of the children to follow the trend!
