Disaster Relief for my family after Typhoon Rai

I’ve created this gofundme to help support my family and neighbors in Bohol, Philippines whose homes and lives are destroyed after Typhoon Rai. On Dec 16, 2021 winds hit over 160mph and wiped out my grandparent’s house and many others. So far over 200 people have been found dead across the country, and at least half of those are from my home island of Bohol. 

My grandpa, a fisherman at the time, started the home as a nipa hut in the 70s and worked incredibly hard over many decades to build it in to a 2-story house that held so many memories for multiple generations. It is my favorite place in the world and has stood through so much disaster until now. Back in October 15, 2013 Bohol was hit by a strong 7.2 earthquake. At the time, my grandparent’s house survived with large damages that we were able to repair with my parents savings and the financial support of friends and family living abroad. My parents also donated necessarily materials, tools, and groceries to support our vulnerable community.

Today my grandparents house, as well as hundreds of others, has been flattened to the ground. Almost everything they own has been submerged by the flooding that followed. My family is safe but pretty much all the houses in their area have been wiped and washed out. 

We are humbly asking for the financial support to help my family and the people of Clarin, Bohol where most of my family lives. They have no electricity, no water, and very limited food supply. Your money goes a long way in the Philippines. Just $5 can feed one family dinner. Photos are the aftermath of devastation brought on by the typhoon. Money will go towards building a safe new home for my family, supporting their needs, and food for them and their neighbors. Please help if you are able to, every dollar makes an impact.
