I am a United States Vietnam Era Veteran and senior citizen. I am 66 years of age.
I have right pulmonary heart failure caused by spinal cord injury which is service connected. It became to much for my wife to care for me and our little boy who was so disabled. My wife Karen and I adopted Jared but it was to much for her to take care of Jared and me. Jared has special needs. He is my first child. He was born on herion and meth. Jared has cerebral palsy and autism with with many neurological deficits. God brought Jared and I and Karen together. He is with his mother doing well. My wife left me I tried my best to keep this manufactured home for my family but Karen went out of state and I wound up paying for things that my wife and son who is now five needed. This too I just tried to do what a dad and husband does and that is to love his family no matter what make sure my wife and son were cared for. I have been living alone with my little dog babe who is 11 years old. I became very ill September and October of 2020 which required me to pay $4000 for caregivers and that put me behind. My eleven year old 4.2 pound chihuahua has been my companion, her name is Babe she required a $3000 surgery to save her life in December of 2019. I had over $5000 out of pocket medical expenses being in and out of hospital and paying for my ventilator from Apria. I have spinal cord injury and right pulmonary heart failure. I got out a title loan on van and tried to catch up but now I’m $27000 in the hole because of the interest on a loan. I thought that staying off of the street was a priory because I could try to keep the home for my family and love them and serve them. I am rated at 90% disability. I got behind on the space rent, utilities, medical expenses which was about $1250 a month including water, sewage, etectric, gas and trash and phone. I got behind almost three months which is about $3750. In total I got behind almost $35,750. I am about to be evicted and I have lived here for 16 years. The park manager and I are both veterans he is a wonderful man and a good manager and friend. I have no where to go and if I lose our home which is handicapped accessible it will be very difficult for me to survive. I served my country very honorably for nine years and I worked all my life. Thank you for taking your time to consider my story. In summary in order to able to have my little boy come and see and with together again I am trying to keep the home for him and his mother and I. I have to also file with an attorney in Libby, Montana in order to have Jared and I be together. I am to maintain this home for my family. Habitat for Humanity help me with this this past year. They did a renovation to make the home safer and more secure for my family. Any help is greatly appreciated and will allow me to continue living here because moving at this age and my health will very hard on me. Thank you.
Sincerely grateful
