Disabled USAF Vet needs your help!

Disabled Vet needs your help!

A few days ago a lady reached out to me in desperation, because she is in dire need of help for serious roof conditions on her home. Miss Cynthia Koehler is a disabled veteran of the United States Air Force, with multiple heath issues, congestive heart failure, COPD, from second hand smoke, and MS which has her confined to a wheelchair. One of the most

heartbreaking parts of her story is while serving our great nation; she was sexually abused on four separate occasions. With everything that has happened, and living on disability, with hardly any financial means to get by month to month, much less fix this situation , Miss Cynthia still maintains a strong faith in God, and allowed Rhonda and myself to pray with her for God’s will and protection.

When Miss Cynthia reached out to Roof Troop, I felt God speaking and telling me to go spend time with her. So on Monday Rhonda and myself drove 1 ½ hours to hear her story and see her situation. What I saw was a home built for her by her husband 21 years ago, who has since gone home to be with the Lord. This issue was turned into her insurance company and was declined, due to the age of the roof. There are about 6-8 major leaks, and she has to put out pots and pans all over her house because the water is literally pouring into her house. At this point, repair is not an option, it has to be replaced, and if this is not taken care of her home will be destroyed. This is a major undertaking with the roof and rotted wood, and the cost will range up to $12,000.00.

As a 12 year disabled veteran of the United States Air Force, who served this great nation with such courage to protect our country, and you and me, I refuse to turn my head and just assume it will all work out. The bible teaches us to take care of our widows, and in Mathew 19:19 it tells us to “LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THY SELF”. I am trusting God to speak to those of you that can join with me and help this sweet lady out of a dire situation, and give her peace of mind. The work to be done on this will run around $12,000. If only 100 of my friends could give $100 it could be done. I know some can't do that much, maybe only $50, $25 or $10. The amount doesn’t matter, what matters is we get in the game and help a widowed disabled veteran who just can’t do it alone. Some people can’t help monetarily, but you can still be just as important by praying and spreading the news.

If you can help, and I pray you do, you can make a check out to The Roof Troop, and in the memo put PLTN. You can mail the check to me at Todd Nelon, 5566 Clipper Bay Dr, Powder Springs, GA 30127; we also take credit cards or go straight through this GoFundMe page.

Remember, it’s not your money, its God’s. We need to help when we can, because one day you may need the same help. Please share this and watch God move. Thank you and God bless you.
