Disabled Mum of 3 autistic kids has cancer

Elizabeth is a Geelong single mother who lives in chronic pain and fatigue due to CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome). She also has Autism, and struggles to maintain a small circle of friends.
She has no family support to assist with her 3 children all of whom have Autism at significant levels. One of the children also has a rare and poorly understood medical eating disorder, which puts excessive strain on the entire family.
Elizabeth was diagnosed with stage 3 Melanoma late in 2018. This has derailed the family, and has meant that Elizabeth’s hard work towards reentering the paid workforce as a disability advocate has been put on hold indefinitely.
Over the last 16 years, Elizabeth has given significant hours as a voluntary counsellor with a registered support organisation (Australian Breastfeeding Association), but has had to take leave from this role due to her health.
Elizabeth is struggling to make ends meet on Centrelink payments, but she avoids asking for help.
A recent mechanical problem with her car has left her immobile, unable to undertake her parenting responsibilities or to attend medical appointments. It will cost more to repair the damage to the engine than the car is worth. She has been turned down for a car loan due to her income stream combined with her longtime health and family responsibilities.
This call for assistance is to help Elizabeth purchase a suitable and reliable vehicle so she can continue to support her children and focus on becoming well.
Any extra funds raised will support ongoing medical treatments and provide much needed respite.
