Please Help a Disabled Military Veteran from Losing her Home
Donation protected
Hi my name is Kelli.
Delissa Chase is losing her home and desperately needs everybody’s help. Delissa is a fully disabled military veteran who served our country for many years. She now dedicates her life and her finances to saving horses from slaughter and helping other veterans in need. Delissa used her entire life savings to purchase this property in 2021 in order to live out her dream of giving back to her community. Delissa and I recently set up the non-profit Whispering Sands Sanctuary, with the goal of saving more horses, but right now Delissa is the one that urgently needs our help.
On April 1st, Delissa was notified by the County of San Bernardino that the house that she built on her property, with her bare hands, has to be torn down. Code enforcement stated she must pull permits to rebuild and that the house must be on a concrete slab and not concrete pillars. A new septic system must also be installed.
She was only given 90 days to make these corrections which is not possible, especially factoring in the time it takes to pull the required permits.
Time is of the essence. Delissa needs a small RV or trailer she can put on the property to live in so that she can continue to care for the 14 rescued horses and help other veterans in the area while she works towards raising the funds to rebuild.
Estimate of expenses:
· RV/trailer - $10,000 - $15,000
· Architect (required to draw plans to submit for permits) - $3,000 - $5,000
· Permit Fees - $3,000 -$5,000
· Concrete footings and slab - $15,000 - $20,000
· Septic System - $8,000
· Building Materials - $30,000
We hope you find it in your heart to donate and share this story. Any amount is greatly appreciated!
