Hi guys,
I've been very reluctant to ask for financial assistance but I recently found out that my 2nd spinal surgery (lumbar fusion) failed, this means that I continue to have severe pain on a daily basis and often cannot leave the house for weeks on end.
I have Facet Joint Disease, Degenerative Disc Disease, Spinal Stenosis Osteoarthritis and Spondylolisthesis in my lower spine. I have had these problems for over 10 years and they are only getting worse. I have permanent nerve damage in my right leg and regularly lose feeling so this affects my ability to get out and about.
It makes day to day functioning quite difficult as I never can tell when I'll have a good day. They are getting fewer unfortunately. I'm 39 and I have 3 beautiful children but I'm unable to play an active role in their lives. Even school runs aren't something I can do,
so I rely on friends for help.
As my mobility is compromised and my back tends to go into spasms without the right support I spend most of my day lying on my bed.
I would really love to have a proper support recliner which is motorised to help me stand up. This would mean spending time with my husband and 3 children having movie nights.
Such a simple every day thing to other people but not for me. My bedroom can feel like a prison cell at times.
My condition is degenerative so it's all about pain management going forward - there is no cure.
If I could raise enough funds to help buy this chair it would bring a lot of happiness into our home and I wouldn't feel so isolated. Unfortunately it's just not something we can afford to buy ourselves as I cannot work. So if you can contribute in any way I would be so grateful. I know there are so many worthy causes out there that need your help. But this would truly make my life easier and allow me to feel more like I'm a part of our family. It gets lonely lying in my bed listening to my husband have fun with the children.
