Many of you know my mum as Di.
This is very hard for me to write & even ask for help.
My mum was diagnosed with Melanoma in May this year. It was throughout her whole body & since receiving treatment the cancer has reduced in most of her body. Things were looking up & even though the medication she has been on over the past 7 months has made her very sick with horrible side effects. There was light at the end of this dark tunnel. Mum was starting to think of the things she has wanted to do to move forward in her life.
Then it all changed. On the early hours of Sunday 23rd October mum suffered a fierce seizure which lead her to be rushed to the Alfred Hospital by helicopter & she was put into an Induced Coma. They did many tests and found out the Cancer has now spread to her Brain and she has several lesions that are in-operable. She is now is Peter Mac in Melbourne and is about to start radio-therapy but there is no cure for this disease. The doctors have told us life expectancing, but I know she is strong enough to fight this & I don't believe in "expiry dates"!!!
She has just turned 52yo, she is engaged to be married to Steve. She has a 17yo son Josh, me - Kelly 33yo & 2 grandchildren Jacob 7yo & Ella 4yo. She is also a sister, aunty, daughter & friend to many.
Mum had me at the early age of 19, she bought me up by herself with no support. Then had Joshua 16 years later. Mum has selflessly always put Josh & I & her grandkids first to make sure we havent gone without. We have had such a wonderful life with so many oportunites.
But now its our turn to give back!
She has never been overseas or done many things she would like to do due to money. I have got her to write a list of things she would like to do. I told her write anything on her list, I don't care how much its costs - just write it down.
I was going to keep it a secret from her that I was doing this but I think it maybe too hard!
So here I am shouting from the rafters
TO PLEASE HELP MUM FULFILL HER LIFE WISHES!!!!!
