Di's GROW trip to Ghana

My name is Di Shen-Manuel. I have been working with the Seasons Care Dietitian Network as a Registered Dietitian providing nutritional services at long-term care homes in Kitchener-Waterloo region for the last three years. This year I am thrilled to be part of MEDA’s GROW (Greater Rural Opportunities for Women in Ghana) trip from November 22nd through December 3rd, 2017 and would love to have your support.

As someone whose career focus is ensuring proper nutritional well-being, becoming involved in helping the women of Northern Ghana develop a thriving soybean industry, is exciting. GROW is not only helping women strengthen their crop production, it is helping forge the links they need to get their product to market. Soybeans not only aid in the nutritional needs of the community, they also generate the financial resources these women need to further take care of their families.

The Mennonite Economic Development Association (MEDA), founded in 1953, has a strong reputation of effective development work around the world, from Haiti to Myanmar and the Ukraine to South Africa. MEDA is helping people struggling with poverty develop business solutions that that will improve the lives of their families and communities.
