Hello,
We are Carter, George, Grayson, and Peter. We are students from St. Ignatius Catholic School in Meridian, Idaho. Together, we would like to thank you for being here and reading this. As you know, the Eaton fire in Southern California has destroyed many people's houses in the Altadena/Pasadena community. Many families were evacuated and displaced, unable to return to their homes. George and Peter used to live in Pasadena and attended St. Andrew Catholic School before moving to Idaho. We learned that 23 students from the school were affected most terribly by the fire. It has been extremely sad and heartbreaking to speak with them and find out how they have lost their homes and all of their personal belongings. Some even lost their family pets.
One of the students spoke to us about how her home was burned to the ground with only a brick chimney left. Others described how refrigerators, washers, and dryers were all melted. And all their books and toys are merely ashes now. Some are still traumatized by having to flee in the middle of the night with just their pajamas on, forgetting to put on a jacket or even shoes. And how their parents could barely see the street signs just to get out of the burning nightmare. We invite you to join us as a community and do what you can now to help our St. Andrew friends.
Our hope is for this GoFundMe to raise enough funds for us to directly assist and donate $300 - $500 to each of these 23 St. Andrew students. This money will help them replace any personal items that they may have lost in the fire, such as clothes, shoes, toys, books, or school supplies—anything that would help relieve their stress and sadness. It will also help ease the minds of their parents so that they don't have to worry about the extra costs that are needed for their children during this hard time in their lives.
Any amount of money that you donate will help, so please donate and give as much as you can. If you are currently unable to help financially, please help spread the word and share this Gofundme with your friends and family.
THANK YOU so much for your kindness and generosity!
In Christ and St. Ignatius,
Carter, Greyson, George, and Peter.
