Diovanna’s Affirmation Fund

My name is Diovanna. I am a multimedia dance artist and queer performance scholar and within the last few months, I have finally come to realize and come to terms with my Transfemme identity. For years, I have lived with a silent sadness looming over me, not able to put a name or reason to it. I now understand that it was from a deep misunderstanding and suppressing of my feminine identity; this was also connected to a deep distance between who I know myself to be behind my eyes and what I see before me in the mirror, which I now understand to be gender dysphoria. Having used the power of my spirituality, I have healed much of the sadness that I harbored since my childhood surrounding my gender identity and expression, and I can see and feel my inner feminine/female/girl more close to the surface of my skin than ever before. Which brings me to the purpose of this fund.   

I am finally ready to begin my gender affirmation journey and need your help to do it. I primarily wish to start hormone therapy and receive laser hair removal, to affirm my Transfemme identity and more clearly see the person I have so desperately wanted to see in the mirror for what seems like my whole life. This fund will help me by providing me the money necessary to become and stay insured, begin HRT, receive electrolysis, and buy new clothes more aligned with my gender. All additional funds raised will be used for housing and supporting my work as an artist.
