Dionisio Reyes Cancer Support Fund

Five years ago we received the life-changing news that  my husband Dionisio "D" Reyes had kidney cancer.  A report that we were not expecting, and definitely one that changed our lives.  An enlarged tumor caused for, his left kidney to be removed.  We had no idea what the road ahead of us would look like.  Over time, the cancer spreaded to his bones with another mass now attached to his right hip.   The size of this mass has taken over his right hip bone.  Dionisio is currently being treated at the CTCA by doctors and specialists who are providing him with ongoing medical attention and monitoring his progress.    On this journey the Lord has been with us through; radiation,  overwhelming bone pain and ongoing changes to his treatments and medication. Because the cancer has reached it's way into my husband's bones, his body has become very fragile.   While on his job, he fractured his left collar-bone.  Eventhough we received a good report regarding the fracture, my husband noticed that the pain would not subside.  It was during his oncology check up that we later discovered a tumor on his collar bone... more radiation was given.  My husband is the strongest man that I know.  During these five years, I have watched him fight through his pain and continue to believe the Lord for complete healing.  Some days have been harder than others, causing my husband to miss a year's time of work throughout these years, exhausting all of his personal/sick time.    The tumors have grown and a nodule is now on his left lung. The nodule is causing delayed breathing.  New chemo therapy has been started, as the chemo that was given over the past five years is no longer effective.
Most recently, we have had to come to the decision, that he can no longer work, prompting the start of disability benefits. However there is a 3-6 months waiting and processing period, increasing our financial hardship with leaving only one income during this time.
For those of you who know my husband, you know him to be a strong man who is always looking to helping others,  This decision was not an easy decision for him to make.  I have been so encouraged by his uplifting spirit and his constant thoughts surrounding the state of our family's lively-hood.  As we prayerfully and carefully plan the next stages of our journey (continuing to believe God for COMPLETE HEALING) My husband and I have decided that are lives continue to remain blessed by the help and presence of our family and friends.  Dionisio is a devoted husband, loving father, and God-fearing man, his heathly is our ultimate priority.  We are asking for prayers and financial blessings (of any amount) to help our family maintain our monthly living expenses, pay for doctor's visits, medical testing, and medication. We will leave our campaign active indefinitely as ongoing fiancial assistance is needed.  As you are led and able, we hope that you will consider our need.
