Dingle Distillery International Film Festival

Welcome to the Dingle Distillery International Film Festival, November 11th-13th, 2022.
Our mission is to make this festival a unique, ground-breaking, inclusive and inspiring event for up-and-coming filmmakers, established filmmakers and a broad audience. We will establish ourselves as the place to see new Irish and international films that push boundaries and give new perspectives on imagination and a vision of the world. Our objective is to show film on the edge, shown at the edge of Europe.

Featuring a selected celebrity curator with an in-depth knowledge of film every year, the Dingle Distillery International Film Festival will be a leading light in its ever-evolving approach to new movies. It will also be a nurturing ground for new filmmakers who will come for its high-profile Master classes and its engaging programme of high calibre films. Our approach is to create an identifiable brand that will make the Dingle Distillery International Film Festival a must attend event for a broad and diverse audience.

Why do we need your help:

With your help, we hope to raise further money to allow us to create sustainable employment in the area and to allow us to select the best film programme possible. Your contribution will be an invaluable help to us in this festival and onwards. Our aim over time is to create more badly needed jobs and to have a festival programme that is second to none. So, we will be very grateful to receive your contributions – not only are you helping the festival, you are also helping the West Kerry community.

More about the festival:

Feature Zone:
Our specially curated feature film programme will be held at two venues in the town. Each venue will host 3 feature films per day at 6pm, 8pm and 10pm. These films will be selected by our celebrity curator. The shortlist will be compiled year on year by our festival programmer to keep consistency in the brand moving forward.

Doc Zone:
Our dedicated documentary venue will be located at the Beehive Theatre and will feature powerful documentaries that bring light to significant and challenging stories that need to be voiced.

Shorts Zone:
Will be located at two venues in the town and will have a revolving programme of short films throughout the day.

The Masters Zone:
Each year we will host two seminars per day from leading experts in the industry, each for up to 300 attendees at the Dingle Skellig Hotel. Examples of areas that will be covered: Direction, Production, Camera, Sound, Lighting, Script Writing, Casting, Costume design etc.

Masters Workshops:
We will also host three practical full day masterclass workshops per festival for up to 20 people, with leading experts on the topics listed above.

Film Course:
Each year we will host a film course run by professionals in the industry in collaboration with the film festival. One module of this course will be centred around documenting the film festival.
