Help fix up DINA after break in

Donation protected

**It's incredible to be able to raise the goal to £1000 after the flood of support. Thank you everybody.** = 11.50am

**Wow! £700 raised! Please keep donating - the more we raise, the more we can do. It's amazing to see how much people care about the venue.** - 10.30am

** We have raised the goal to £700 after overwhelming support from the community. In only 11 hours overnight we raised over the £500 we asked for and are eternally grateful! The more we raise, the more we can do to improve the safety and security of the building to make sure it stays open as long as possible.** - Miriam, 10am, 2/4

Last night, the front doors of DINA were smashed and the building burgled.  We are raising money to fix the broken doors and replace stolen goods.

DINA is a DIY, not-for-profit arts space in Sheffield City Centre, run by a core team of extremely hard working people working long hours to put on art, parties, workshops, discussions, theatre, spoken word and lots more for and by local people.

The people who work there do so on a mostly voluntary basis. If you have ever attended or put on an event at DINA you will know that the team always have a lot to do.

DINA has no public or regular funding. It is a completely independent venue in which the only income is through hire, bar and cafe sales.

Through the ups, downs, and stresses like this one, DINA still manages to support local artists and the community more than any arts centre I have ever known. DINA gives a lot of free rehearsal space to artistic groups, free venue hire to people raising money for good causes, support to local people and really accessible and affordable exhibitions and art.

I am writing as someone who has been supported massively by DINA. Deborah and Malcolm, who run the venue, gave me the use of their cellar space completely for free so that I could learn about venue management, producing, directing and more. They have supported me completely through the transformation of the cellar into a fully-functioning and equipped theatre. I wouldn't have been able to do this without their support.

I hope you can see how much of a positive difference the venue makes to the city and the people in it.

I can't explain enough how much DINA deserves your support and donations at this time.

If you have ever been to DINA, you may have seen is haphazard, a bit chaotic and very DIY, but that's because it's a massive job for only a few people with very little money.

So please help DINA out. Spaces like this don't last for long without help.
