Conversion Vehicle for Veteran!

Donation protected
U.S. Army Specialist Dillon Cannon was born in Sugar Land, Texas, on June 10, 1986. With the unconditional support from family and friends, Dillon joined the Army at 19 years of age.

In early 2005, Dillon attended Ft. Lenardwood, MO for basic training and later went on duty with the 571st Military Police Company in Ft. Lewis, WA. Dillon and his family soon found out that his father, Bob, was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. Robert Cannon passed away on January 8, 2006.

In October of the same year, Dillon was sent to Baqubah, Iraq, for 14 months. With little action during his initial time there, Dillon and his unit were sent on a routine personnel escort mission. It was on this mission that Dillon's convoy was stopped and made aware of a possible roadside bomb.

On December 29, 2006, while waiting for the Explosive Ordinance Disposal to arrive, Dillon was in his position as the turret gunner in the Humvee. Watching the area, Dillon stood up just enough to reveal his neck and was shot between his C6 and C7 vertebrae causing instant paralysis from mid-chest down.

Now, seven years later, Dillon is trying to raise awareness for his condition and other wounded Veterans through a program started with his friend, Spencer. Being at this level of injury, he is still able to inspire others with the amount of movement and mobility he can do and is actively involved in demonstrating that life cannot be defined by injury.

With his 28th birthday coming up in June, we are trying to SURPRISE Dillon with a vehicle designed with accessibility in mind.

Please keep in mind that Dillon is not aware of this fundraiser; we are only trying to give back to a Veteran who has given so much for us. When sharing, please be sure to hide the post from Dillon-we'd hate to spoil the surprise! :)

To see your donation in action and watch your donation improve a wounded Veteran's life, each donor will be subscribed to "Dillon's Continuing Story" which will provide updates on his current activities!

Please help Dillon reach his full potential!
