Dijour & Family Recovery Fund

Early December 9th, one of the shining stars of Youth FX, Dijour Carter, and his entire family lost everything they had in a fire that destroyed the apartment building they lived in on Western Ave.   The fire spread quickly and after getting 3 of his 4 siblings out of the apartment and to safety, Dijour ran back into the building to the third floor and saved his little sister who was still inside.   His sister was safe and sound but Dijour had to be admitted to Albany Med due to smoke inhalation.  After being observed over night he was released from the hostpital, and is back with his family.

The entire family is traumatized, but glad to all be alive and that no one was seriously injured.  These funds will be used to help Dijour and his family get back on their feet and address their immediate needs.  As some of you who follow Youth FX and have attended our film screenings know, Dijour is a talented filmmaker, composer and graphic artist.  He had been working full-time since early this fall, and recently had finally saved up enough to being able to purchase a Mac Mini computer to edit and make music.   All his equipment and the projects he was working on were lost in the fire.  So we hope to also raise enough funds to help purchase a new computer for Dijour to be able to continue his art.
