Digital Access West Yorkshire

The current Covid-19 crisis has created greater demand for connectivity. That's why we've decided to act fast, act local.

Our aim is to match donated laptops or tablet computers with those individuals who need them, and making sure that more people can connect with others during this difficult time.

What are we doing to help?

We’re trying to bridge this gap and are working with community groups and headteachers to make sure we can support in the best possible and quickest way.

In the first instance we’ve reached out to those people with spare machines and asked if they can donate them to children and families in Leeds and Bradford. We also want to help people get connected if they don't already have internet access at home, or their data plan isn't sufficient for reaching more community services and homeschooling.

How can you help?

As a team of volunteers we've already started to distribute donated computers via community referrals. We now need funding to scale the amount of safe support that is being requested.

Your donation will help us to buy:

- PPE equipment for our volunteers
- Spare computer parts such as chargers
- Lockable storage units at the growing number of hub drop-off points across Leeds and Bradford
- Internet access and data plans
- Additional and new devices to distribute via referrals

We really do appreciate your help as a volunteer, donating a device or supporting this fund.  Thank you.
