</div>

</div>

</div>

</div>

<div><strong>Das Vorwort schreibt Gaudencio Rodríguez, Psychologe und Autor zum Thema Adoptionen aus Mexiko.</strong>

</div>

</div>

</div>

</div>

</div>

</div>

</div>

</div>

</div>

</div>

</div>

</div>

</div>

</div>

<div><em>My name is Catalina Pfranger Medina. I was born in 1970 in Colombia and adopted as a baby by my qSwiss family in Bogotá. The early separation from my biological mother left an invisible wound – a deep sense of emptiness and not belonging that accompanied me for almost five decades. For a long time, I believed there was something wrong with me. But when, at almost 50 years old, I realized it was a loss trauma, I felt as if my whole world fell apart.</em>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><em>It was only after my adoptive father passed away in 2013 that I dared to search for my biological family. Two years later, I returned to Colombia for the first time in 36 years – and immediately felt: I am home! Then, in 2020, the incredible and still to this day inexplicable happened: within just a few hours I found my biological sisters – almost effortlessly, even though I had no information about them. For the first time in my life, I felt complete, part of a whole. I finally belonged – I was no longer the secret.</em>

</div>

<div><em>Today I know: adoption always means loss – for the child, for the biological parents, and also for the adoptive parents. Without healing and professional support, these wounds can silently pass down through generations. That is why it is so important that all parties involved receive professional help – so that guilt can be lifted, silence can be broken, and true healing can begin.</em>

</div>

<div><em>From this journey, my book was born: “El poder de mis raíces” (in English: The Power of My Roots). But it is more than a biography – it weaves together my personal story with insights from neuroscience, epigenetics, and psychology. The foreword is written by Gaudencio Rodríguez, psychologist and author on adoption issues from Mexico.</em>

<div><em>The Spanish edition of my book is already in process with a publishing house in Bogotá and will be ready for print in December 2025. A highlight will be my participation in the FILBo Bogotá 2026, one of Latin America’s largest book fairs, where I will have the honor of presenting my life’s work together with my publisher.</em>

</div>

<div><em>German and English editions are also planned, but they will be separate future projects.</em>

</div>

<div><em>I have already covered nearly USD 2.600 of the costs myself, but I still need the final contribution to cover the completion, design, and printing.</em>

</div>

<div><em>✨ With your support, you are not only helping me publish my story – you are also contributing to making a taboo topic visible and opening the dialogue about adoption, identity, and belonging. Because every story like mine shows: pain can remain a chain – or it can transform into roots and heal an entire family tree.</em>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><em>From my heart, thank you for your contribution and your trust.</em>
