Dias Family House Fire Fund

Donation protected

Many of us have watched in horror at the sight of the devastating historic fires that ravaged Sonoma County and specifically Santa Rosa, CA. While we often want to help in these situations we frequently do not know how to make a difference. One way you can make a direct impact on one family and to make a difference in their lives is to give to the Dias family.

On October 9, 2017 at 3 a.m. in the morning Linda Dias and her family awoke from a phone call from one of her sons telling her to get out of her house as soon as possible, a fire was coming. She grabbed some family pictures on the way out the door with her husband and 16 year old son. They were told 12 hours later that their home and all of their life long possessions had perished in the fire. They barely made it out with their lives. Not only have they lost their home and belongings, but they are both self employed. Linda is a Real Estate agent in Santa Rosa and Frank owns a small company that does drainage systems. Due to the fires, both of them have effectively lost their income for the near future as well. They were left with only the clothes on their backs.

This sadly comes just 6 months after Linda  and her sister Julie lost their father Al Salgado to a heart attack. Their parents' home was thankfully spared in the fire nearby. However, the house will not be inhabitable for quite some time which leaves the family to also care for their mother Penny who requires regular medical attention, until she is able to return to her home.

Their immediate needs are as follows:

*Prayer - specifically for strength to get through this devastation. For healing and the ability to rebuild. And patience as they endure the stress of their situation.

* Monetary donations -  Donations in any amount will go directly to their current needs such as hotel stays, food, clothes, and other necessities.

* As soon as a temporary home is established... donations such as clothing, supplies, and meal preparation will be needed.

Thank you for your consideration of helping this family in need. Every prayer, dollar and word of encouragement is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to share this page in hopes that we can come together as a community and ease some of the burden for this sweet family.
