Diary of a Thycke Girl, Stage Play on Tour

We are raising funds to take Diary of a Thycke Girl, an original stage play on TOUR beginning July 2019!

DIARY OF A THYCKE GIRL, is an original stage play that shares the inner thoughts and experiences of six (6) women, and touches on how society views and portrays women. The storyline includes some hard truths about life, relationships, addictions, and more. DIARY OF A THYCKE GIRL is heart-felt with thought-provoking moments, laughter, and possibly tears as the women unfold their stories, secrets, and truths --- stories, secrets, and truths that are typically only shared in a diary. 

Diary of a Thycke Girl addresses many issues such as infidelity, colorism, being biracial, self-identification, coping, societal expectations, body image, loyalty or the lack of, self-harm and more. 

This stage play is written, directed and produced by four (4) female entrepreneurs: Brandee Dyson, Kaya Rainey, Trina Jackson and Yolanda Givens. Our love for and training in creative & performing Arts, and passion for the empowerment of women led to the launch of Thycke Girl Productions (TGP) aka the creators of Diary of a Thycke Girl. We hope to inspire, while bringing forth truth and great performances for all to enjoy. We have turned our passion into a platform for today's woman to be heard through phenomenal productions and creative projects!

DIARY OF THYCKE GIRL premiered in 2017 in Chicago with two sold out shows and returned to the Chicago stage by popular demand in 2018 with one sold out show. The play and the overall experience have received rave reviews.

We now want to take the play on tour to not only provide great entertainment but to EMPOWER women, and the men that support them! This tour will be so astounding! This tour will be of great benefit to the talented cast, the amazing crew, and all that have the opportunity to be exposed to the TGP and Diary of a Thycke Girl experience. 

The four of us, (TGP) will be so forever grateful for the support, and encouragement. We are confident that we have something special to share, and a great message. It will be one of our dreams come true to have such an opportunity. Every dime will be spent to help cover the tour expenses from the travel to the venue fee to production costs. 

We have already identified Macon, GA as our first stop and our goal is to the hit the stage at the Douglas Theater! Your support for the tour kick-off will pave the way for premiering in other cities such as Milwaukee, Detroit, Memphis...
