Jennifer Dianne Fulford's Recovery

Donation protected
Jennifer Dianne Fulford is one of my oldest and dearest friends.  We met at Capernwray Bible School in England over ten years ago.  She is a native of Canada, but is currently living and working in NY and pursuing U.S. citizenship.  A few years ago – after lots of hospital stays, ER visits, and doctor’s appointments – she was diagnosed with a rare condition known as Behçet’s disease.  The exact cause is unknown, but is thought to be some sort of autoimmune disease process.  It causes blood vessel inflammation throughout one’s body and is characterized by ulcerations and weakening of blood vessels.  It can affect "anywhere that blood can flow" – resulting in dysfunction of numerous organ systems. Jennifer Dianne has a severe form of this disease and has been admitted to the hospital numerous times this year already and has had five operations in 2018 alone – the last hospital admission was the result of a ruptured artery that caused her to lose most of her blood volume and required a massive emergency transfusion of blood products.

Especially in the last year, the disease has taken a significant turn for the worse and has largely kept Jennifer Dianne from working – making it difficult to manage expenses.  She is a registered nurse working in case management. She loves being a nurse and was top of her class when she graduated last year.  Due to the numerous hospitalizations and operations this year, she has not been able to work even part time hours for much of this year.  Despite insurance, she has a portion that she must pay as well as many medical expenses that are not covered - largely because of the rarity of the disease and lack of treatment protocols.   She started back at work a few days ago, but was just readmitted because of additional complications.  She is on the most intensive recommended treatment for Behçet’s, but it has been ineffective in controlling the disease.  Her physicians have reached out to the Behçet’s research institute in New York City.  We are hoping and praying for a new or better treatment.

All that to say, I am asking for help for my friend to ease the burden of Jennifer Dianne’s medical expenses and to provide a few immediate and basic needs.  Any gift would be greatly appreciated.  Any raised funds will go to help Jennifer Dianne with paying for medications, her insurance deductible, insurance premium, consult with Behçet’s specialists in New York City, groceries, and toward transportation for her work.  Even if you are not in a position to give, please pray for my dear friend.  I can’t say enough good stuff about her.  She is kind, thoughtful, hard-working, is a beloved friend and has had more than her fair share of difficulties.  If you want to send notes of encouragement, please contact me.
