Diane Thompson Memorial Expenses

Miss Diane Thompson was very unexpectedly and suddenly taken from all of us this past Saturday night and, based on the overwhelming outpouring of love shared on Facebook and the many visitors we have welcomed at her home these past couple days, her departure has left a huge hole in the hearts of countless people in and around the community of Orange. As her passing was far too early and so unexpected, no preparations for her final wishes were made ahead of time. In order to help ease at least a small amount of the pain her family is now going through in her absence, I’m setting up this fund to take as much of the financial burden off of them as possible to allow them to focus on remembering and memorializing their mom and best friend. Diane was my mother-in-law and I’ve had the distinct honor of not only marrying the amazingly strong and beautiful woman she raised, but have also had 13 years of wonderful memories with her.



If you’re reading this, you may know Diane as the blonde lady (I’ve heard her referred to as “blondie” about 50 times in the last 48 hours) with the infectious laugh that loved her family at O’Hara’s and Paul’s, the long-time Disneyland cast member kicking men out of the way to be the first female foreman of Monorail drivers, the chorale member with the beautiful soprano voice, the lady walking around Orange with an army of her beloved dogs, or just an amazing friend…in any of those cases, I’m sure you all share memories of a strong, beautiful, smart, stubborn, ass-kicking woman with a huge heart.



Or maybe you didn’t know personally know Diane, but have landed here because of the love you have for one of the many people that were close to her and are struggling to find a way through these really hard days without her. If you fall into this bucket, (as someone that is finding it hard to even begin to understand the magnitude of this loss) thank you very much for support.



At the time of writing this, we are still finalizing details for Diane’s burial and memorial services (stay tuned to Facebook, text messages and phone calls coming soon for details on services in the Orange area). Should everything go as planned, we’re expecting the total cost to come in right around $11,000. We have set up a separate bank account to receive proceeds from this fund and (minus any transaction or credit card fees that are subtracted by gofundme) every dollar you share will go directly for expenses related to Diane’s burial and memorial services.
