<div>In meiner großen Familie gab es, wie in vielen Familien schon reichlich Schicksalsschläge. Mit diesem Spendenaufruf möchte ich euch um Hilfe für meine Tante Manuela und meine Cousine Diana bitten.

<div>Diana ist 43 Jahre alt und erkrankte im Mai 2001 an einer unaufhaltsamen Krankheit. Es handelt sich hierbei um die Niemann-Pick-Krankheit vom Typ C (NPC), die eine seltene, erbliche Stoffwechselerkrankung ist, bei der der Körper Cholesterin und andere Fette (Lipide) nicht richtig abbauen und transportieren kann. Dies führt zu einer abnormen Ansammlung dieser Stoffe in verschiedenen Körpergeweben, insbesondere im Gehirn, und verursacht fortschreitende neurologische Schäden. Um es ganz vereinfacht auszudrücken: Diana baut immer mehr ab, benötigt Hilfe bei allen was sie tut.

<div>Und weil das Schicksal sich überlegt hat, dass das nicht reicht, starb im vergangenen Herbst Dianas ältere Schwester an Krebs.
</div>
<div>Meine Tante ist über 60 Jahre alt und kümmert sich rührend um Diana. Leider ist jeder Schritt aus dem Haus zusätzlich erschwert, weil Dianas Rollstuhl kaum in den Kofferraum des Autos passt. Er muss in exakt einer Position liegen, damit es geht. Alleine für meine Tante ist das schon gar nicht mehr möglich. Sie braucht immer eine zweite Person, wenn sie mit Diana weg möchte.
