Diana Eikrem's brain surgery and treatment

Diana Eikrem is 55 years old wife and mom of grown twin boys and a 22 year old daughter in college. She's also sole-supporter for her family. Her husband had a stroke 15 years ago and has been on disability since then. She works from home full time to take care of her husband and be there for her daughter.
On July 12th, while sitting at her desk, Diana had her first seizure. It was a very strong partial focal seizure. An ambulance was called and she was taken to the hospital where she continued to have seizures for the next 7 hours. They finally moved her downtown where she was told she had a brain tumor, a low grade glioma. Over the course of the next three months Diana continued to have anywhere from 2 to 22 seizures a day. They were on the third anti-seizure medicine when she started losing mobility in her right side. On October 16, the neurologist finally performed another MRI and realized the tumor had gone from 2 cm to the size of a golf ball in just 5 weeks. Diana has since been diagnosed with a glioblastoma. She underwent a 6 hour surgery on October 25th to remove the tumor. She will hopefully be kept in-hospital for intensive physical therapy to help her regain some, if not all, of her mobility. In two to four weeks, once she's healed from surgery, they will start aggressive chemo/radiation to combat the tumor.
