Medical mystery Diana Corey

Christmas came and went New Years came and went with no celebration. Diana was admitted to United Hospital on Thursday December 21st. It actually started Wednesday before Thanksgiving so that was another holiday missed. She started out with an upper respiratory infection and was treated with a sinus infection but that was the least of concerns. On December 21st she was brought into United Hospital with delirium and weakness they did a CT scan of her brain no stroke they did a CT scan of her lungs and figured it was some form of pneumonia so they had her on 5 antibiotics trying to treat it. 3 days into the stay she's struggle to breathe she was using all the oxygen at 100% on the wall and then another machine brought in they finally decided they needed to intubate and she was on a breathing machine for 4 days. While on the intubation they did a lung wash to determine what type of pneumonia she had because none of the antibiotics were working. The culture came back negative on all types but yet her lungs are filled. She came off the vent with severe delirium and very very confused. She has been fighting fevers on and off. They have five different specialty doctors trying to figure out what she has whether it be a form of a disease or an infection. She is still in United Hospital on the ICU floor and has been getting better everyday but we put up with a few step-backs. She now has influenza. So during this time both incomes of Joan and Diana have been affected Joan has been by your side from day one. She has been her calming Factor during her confusion. Will update with any further information on release she will be needing occupational therapy and physical therapy in the future. So prayers that they can be home and opening up the presents that are still under the tree thank you all.
